This Privacy Policy describes how Hettie Brittz Coaching (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use TreeTribe (the “App”) on Android or iOS. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following personal information directly from you when you register or use the App:

  • Full name (first name and surname)
  • Email address
  • Phone number (if provided)
  • Family structure
  • Age group
  • Tree Type
  • Trait responses and results

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial data, health information, or government identification numbers.

2. How We Collect Your Information

  • Directly from you when you register an account or update your profile within the App or on any of the landing pages linked through the app;
  • Automatically through analytics tools that track usage patterns, app interactions, and app performance; and
  • Through integration with our WordPress platform when your account is created or synchronized.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Create or update your account on our WordPress platform
  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests
  • Verify your identity and ensure the security of your account
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Analyse aggregated, anonymised usage data to improve user experience
  • Tailor our service and communication to you
  • Administer customer support
  • Assist law enforcement and respond to subpoenas
  • Compile anonymous statistical data for internal use, research, and/or publication
  • Deliver information about the app and associated products and services to you
  • Enable user-to-user communications
  • Generate a personal profile to make future visits more personalized

4. WordPress Account Integration

Your personal information (full name, email address, and contact number) is transmitted to and stored within our WordPress-based platform. This is necessary for account management and service delivery. When you use the App, a new WordPress account is created using your details if one does not already exist, or your existing account is updated to reflect the information you provide.

5. Analytics and Tracking

The App uses third-party analytics services to collect non-personally identifiable information, including device type and operating system, app version and session duration, feature usage and navigation patterns, and crash reports and error logs. Analytics data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to your personal identity.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

  • Contractual necessity: processing is required to provide the services you have requested
  • Legitimate interests: to improve the App, ensure security, and communicate with users
  • Legal compliance: to meet obligations under applicable data protection laws

Where required by law (such as under the GDPR or POPIA), we will obtain your explicit consent before processing your data for purposes not covered above.

7. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data only with:

  • Service providers: third-party vendors who assist in operating the App or platform, bound by confidentiality obligations

As the App is available globally, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. Where such transfers occur, we take steps to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

The App complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and does not knowingly permit submission of personal information by anyone under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this document or by in-app notification. Your continued use of the App following any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
